FAQs About Hummingbird Dayhome
Are you a licensed dayhome?
We are happy to say that we have TWO dayhomes that are currently licensed! And to offer families more flexibility, we also have a private dayhome as well!
Are you subsidized?
Our two licensed dayhomes offer subsidy.
Do you transport children?
At this time, we do not drive children in our personal vehicles. We rely on public transit and oftentimes our own two feet during excursions and taking children to school!
School age children typically are dropped off and picked up by the school bus or their parents. However, due to the proximity of Forest Heights School, we are able to walk children to and from school.

Do I need to provide a lunch?
Nope! I provide a morning snack, lunch, and an afternoon snack that adheres to Canada's Food Guide.
My child is a picky eater, what if they don't like what is on the menu?
This is a completely normal phase for children, and this is where consistent communication with you, the parent, is so important. The menu can be changed to suit dietary needs and preferences, so that the child is fed and happy and receiving the nutritional benefits from their meals! And families are welcome to provide meals as well!
How often do you go outside?
We go outside at least twice every day, rain or shine! Only extreme weather will prevent us from exploring the outdoors!
Do you provide care outside of your operating hours?
Yes, we understand that working schedules are different for every family and emergencies can come up, therefore we are happy to provide care outside of my listed hours with adequate notification!
What if I have more questions?
